Trip to Belize (map) - Spring Break 2005

Here is the first cut at Photos ... a quick selection from my digital shots - no captions - no correction for over/under exposure, etc. --- I'll update the photos as prints come in from other cameras - especially the underwater cameras!!!

The itenerary is

• 3/18 Travel to Portland Friday evening
• 3/19 PDX - 12:20 a.m. flight to Houston/Belize City
• 3/19 Puddle-jumper flight to San Pedro on Ambergris Caye
• 3/19 to 3/24 staying at Casa de Lisa:
  • 3/20 Take a day trip up the New River to the Mayan ruins at Lamanai
  • 3/21 snorkel at Hol Chan Marine Reserve (for a few hours in the morning) - then lounge around
  • 3/22 Some sort of snorkeling day trip - possibly to see some manatees and have a BBQ on an island...
  • 3/23 kick back! Maybe snorkel off the dock ... watch the waves ...
• 3/24 to 3/26 fly over to Tikal and stay at the Jungle Lodge for two nights
• 3/26 fly back to Belize International Airport and catch the plane back to Houston/Portland - to arrive at PDX around 8:00 p.m. - and drive home...

So this will be a PACKED vacation - our heads will be spinning with the sights/sounds/tastes/smells/textures of tropical seas, jungles, and Mayan ruins!!!

The local flights (International airport to San Pedro, San Pedro to Tikal, Tikal to International airport) are booked with Maya Island Air.
